Shane has been working as a graphic designer, inside sales and marketing manager since 1995, having started his career then in a security software company in the Greenville, South Carolina area, before it merged with a national brand in 2000, and then joined an international security hardware and software company in 2004, eventually becoming their director of global marketing.
In 2013, he started his own design and consulting firm, SMC Freelance, to help small businesses and non-profits across North America who had little budgetary funds by creating the tools they needed to introduce their brand, expand their market reach, attract new clients, and capture new revenue. Most of his customers simply need a little guidance and an affordable step in the right direction to reach their organization’s goals.
Shane has degree is in graphic design with a focus on advertising, but he broadened his college education with electives in electronic engineering, computer science and world history. His professional experience includes a wide range of abilities, including but not limited to: graphic design, software programming, marketing management, website development, inside sales, asset procurement, inventory and freight management, budget planning, event management, video and audio editing, public speaking, creative writing, process optimization, and more.
An active member of his local community, Shane is also an avid college football fan, reader, gamer and anime critic, though he spends most of his leisure time with his wife of 23 years and their 3 daughters.
